Description
Selection: If bagged there should be no residual moisture visible. If unwrapped check for a firm head no browning, and protective outer leaves.
Preparation: Outer leaves are useable if not too coarse. Remove and fold with inner leaves, rinse and spin or dry, slice with a very sharp knife to prevent bruising or tear.
Good for You: The beauty of lettuce is the water content making you feel revived and alive.
And Tastes So Good: So fresh and crunchy you can use the simplest dressing to good effect with or without your favourite herbs or raw vegetables. Do not overdress or your salad will go limp.
Storage: Rinse briefly and store in fridge in loosely closed plastic bag.

Had to throw away half of the leaves as they were too tough

about half of the leaves have to be thrown away as they are tough, and what you're left with is a rather small head of lettuce for the price. Prob the wrong season to be buying

Not so good this time
Have ordered lettuce before and they were good quality and decent size. These last 2 we ordered had a snail on them and lots of the leaves had to be thrown away because they weren't good quality.

I'm a regular customer - and I don't even live in Tauranga!
I have been so impressed with the freshness and quality of an order I made online from My Greengrocer, for a family member living in Tauranga to pick up, that I am continuing to be a very happy customer and give them my highest recommendation!
